Course Details

LionSearch is a search engine that provides fast, simple access to relevant, high-quality materials from the Penn State University Libraries. LionSearch provides an integrated search of the CAT (online catalog), our databases and e-journals, our e-books, and our local collections.

This session will help you get started with using LionSearch and its features most effectively. The class will cover the LionSearch interface and how to search, refine, and secure quality resources for your research projects. We will also explore Google Scholar in this session and discuss when to use Google Scholar vs. LionSearch for specific research needs.

  • Learn what makes LionSearch different from other search tools
  • Use LionSearch to find high-quality resources about a research topic
  • Explore the differences between Google Scholar and LionSearch
