Blogs are web-based tools that allow individuals to post their thoughts via text and other media on the web for others to comment on. In this discussion-oriented seminar, participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of blogging using Sites at Penn State and will discuss best uses of the tool for teaching and learning.

  • Determine if blogs are the best technology for the teaching situation
  • List educational uses of blogs
  • List the types of educational blogs
  • List the best ways to make blog posts discoverable
  • Discuss best uses of blogs for teaching and learning
